The Cokers are a dynamic singing duo based in London who have a quality that is increasingly rare in married couples today; their earnest desire is to seek out their unified purpose, and to offer it collectively as a gift to the world.

With a deep passion rooted in Christian praise and worship, this couple’s gifts, journey and calling are undeniably intertwined. Married for 5 years, the alignment of their lives is powerfully evident: from their ministry in Peter Francis’ ‘The Jabez Family’ choir, in which they have both been members for over 7 years; to their ministry at Worship Tabernacle – The Citadel, where they are both Worship leaders and choir Directors.

The Cokers desire to minister in worship has taken them to countries near and far. They have travelled across Europe with ‘The Jabez Family’; but have also sung in Canada, Washington DC and the Caribbean island of Montserrat, to name but a few.

Both 30 years old, The Cokers met in Liverpool while ministering back in 2005 and began dating a few years later. This, however, was no ordinary courtship: they were both adamant that if God had placed them together, He would reveal to them what their purpose was as a couple.

Their album, ‘Through the Veil’, is a central part of that joint purpose. The project was released in 2014 and has had numerous testimonies from its listeners such as people being saved and certain songs bringing people through tough times in their lives. The album was nominated for two awards in the USA and continues to be a blessing the lives of its hearers. This project came as no surprise to those who have watched them grow in ministry, friendship and marriage over several years.  The album “Through the Veil“, is an eclectic mix of urban Gospel music combined with praise and worship tracks, underpinned by a blend of live instruments. With beautiful melodies, heart-felt, honest praise, and a raw urban Gospel sound, it will appeal to Christians and non-Christians alike.

It is an album that not only showcases the couple’s writing abilities, but also gives a glimpse into their ordained partnership – since many of their individual unfinished songs found their endings in the other’s lyrics.

The makings of the album began many years before the couple were even married, and the songs – all of which have been penned by the couple themselves – were birthed out of their personal experiences and struggles.

The Cokers have been singing for as long as they can remember. And while Siobhan is a born and bred Londoner and Olrick was born in Sierra Leone, music has always been at the heart of their lives. Siobhan was writing songs as early as aged five and sang her heart out to over 300 people at a festival at the tender age of just eight! Olrick started singing as a teenager, taking part in what was for many years a national TV institution – ‘Pop Idol’ – and progressed to the second qualifying round.

They’ve come a long way in a relatively short space of time, and this passionate, vibrant couple are excited about what is in store for them in the near future. Thanksgiving is certainly the couple’s byword and the attitude upon which they base their lives. Firmly believing that they are called to speak God’s word to nations through their music, their desire is also to strengthen the body of Christ through worship, so that individuals can be empowered to share the Good News, to raise the standard of their walk with Christ, and to live the abundant life they have been called to!”
